2500 Sq Meter area of Green Roof work for the LEED Platinum Certified building at DEWA, Al Quoz When the largest government building in the world to secure LEED Platinum for green buildings opened its doors in Dubai, fmME was on-site to tour the premises and see sustainability in action. Adding to this record-breaking list is the DEWA Sustainable Building in Dubai - the largest government building in the world to secure a LEED Platinum rating for green buildings. At the opening of the building, it was clear that sustainability was high on the agenda, right from construction till operation and maintenance. HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), officially opened the service centre in Al Quoz in Dubai, in the presence of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, HE Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEWA, members of the board, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents from DEWA, and a number of senior officials and VIPs from ministries and government departments.
